If a Worker is injured by a machine, tool or other object being used, the Injured Worker may be have rights against others, for example the manufacturer or designer of the item that was involved in the injury.

Civil Cases against others that have caused or contributed to the injury:

If a worker is injured because of the actions of someone other than their employer, they may have the right to sue that other person or company as well. For example, if the Injured Worker is driving for his or her employer, and is involved in a traffic accident, the injured worker may have the right to sue the driver and owner of the other vehicle.

Unlawful Termination, and Discrimination:

There are many reasons why an Employer can fire an employee. However an employer can not fire you because of your race, religion, sex, sexual preference or even the fact that you were injured.

Medical Malpractice:

Whether you are receiving medical treatment because of work injury or not, Doctors, Hospitals and Medical Practitioners are required to provide an appropriate level of medical care. Failure to comply with this level may result in the patient having the right to sue the Medical Provider for Malpractice.

Social Security:

If you are unable to work, you may be able to qualify for Social Security Benefits. These benefits do impact your Worker’s Compensation Case. Even if you do not have work injury, you may be entitled to receive Social Security Benefits.
